Java Engineer

N-iX is looking for a Java Full-stack Engineer to join our team.

Our customer is the leading school transportation provider in North America, being the owner of more than a half of all yellow school buses in the United States. Every day, the company completes 5 million student journeys, moving more passengers than all U.S. airlines combined and delivers reliable, quality services for 1,100 school districts.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of backend development experience;
• 1+ years of experience with Web frontend development;
• Understanding of serverless computing (AWS);
• AWS development experience;
• Good experience with SQL and/or NoSql databases;
• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices;
• English - Intermediate Strong+ level.
  
  

Would be a plus:

• Understanding of Java backend development toolset;
• Good knowledge of non-relational DBs (DynamoDB);
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Work on improvements to existing cloud based system in order to facilitate portfolio level changes;
• Perform root cause analysis of identified issues, define the plan for their fixing and the means to prevent such issues in future;
• Identify areas for improvements inside existing system;
• Perform peer code reviews.
