Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an AI / Platform Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine and the EU. Our client operates in the same-day and last-mile delivery solutions domain.

Technologies In Use

  • Python (must), Node, Go, or similar backend languages
  • AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Redshift, Redis
  • Docker, Kubernetes, git, GitHub, CircleCI
  • Experience with workflow engines, orchestration frameworks, or AI/ML systems is a plus

Overlap till 1 pm EST (20:00 UA/19:00 CET) is required.

Requirements

  • Education in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning, or Data Science, or Data Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with LangChain or equivalent frameworks.
  • Experience building AI-powered workflows using tools like LangChain or similar frameworks to connect LLMs with internal data, automate processes, and support machine learning integrations
  • 5+ years of Python engineering experience.
  • Experience building microservices, orchestration engines, or workflow automation.
  • Experience with AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway) and external API integration.
  • Strong understanding of API design and performance optimization.
  • Excellent collaboration and documentation skills in a cross-functional team.
  • Upper-Intermediate English level (spoken and written) is required.

Will be a plus

  • Experience with AWS Bedrock.
  • Experience with event-driven systems, streaming, or multi-agent architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain new backend services and orchestration components that unify data from multiple APIs.
  • Implement and integrate services and workflows that support intelligent, AI-driven components.
  • Build caching, retry/backoff, and observability into our API calls and workflows to ensure low latency and high reliability.
  • Partner with Engineering and Data Science leadership to scope and define work across the team and reuse existing components where possible.
  • Apply experience and knowledge of best practices to support and continuously improve the performance, efficiency, and maintainability of the new system.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Data Science team members, providing a voice in backend architectural design decisions.
  • Contribute to establishing and improving software engineering practices for high-scale backend and AI systems.
