About the job
As the VP Strategic Business Development, you will identify and acquire new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and expand Change Financial’s client base. This role requires a proactive, strategic, and results-oriented B2B sales hunter with a proven track record in high-level business development and sales. You will focus on developing new relationships, converting prospects into clients, and maintaining a deep understanding of market trends to support long-term business growth.
We are open to this role being based in Brisbane (hybrid role), Sydney (remote role), or Melbourne (hybrid role).
Your duties and responsibilities
- Proactively identify and target new business opportunities through market research, networking, cold outreach, and industry events.
- Proactively engage with clients, prospects, and Change Financial staff to establish strong and trusted working relationships.
- Develop strategic business plans, including sales and marketing components, to achieve sales targets aligned with overall business strategy.
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to engage with high potential clients and close deals that meet revenue targets.
- Adopt a consultative selling approach including engaging with key decision makers, understanding the client’s needs and challenges, and presenting tailored solutions that are aligned with the client’s goals and deliver value.
- Maintain an organised and accurate sales pipeline, tracking prospects, deals, and sales activities to ensure timely follow-up and deal closures.
- Develop a sales plan and take accountability for achieving sales goals as determined by Senior Management.
- Consistently achieve quarterly and annual sales targets, driving overall company growth and success.
- Manage contract negotiations and sign off, and assist in onboarding clients.
- Post-sales analysis – drive focus on sales conversion rates by identifying the cause of missed conversion opportunities and implementing changes to improve future success.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A proven track record in high-level business development and sales.
- Proven experience as a high-performing sales professional, with a strong track record of B2B sales or business development.
- A deep understanding of sales processes, CRM tools, and sales pipeline management.
- Demonstratable experience and the ability to develop a sales plan and consistently achieve sales targets.
- The ability to secure a seat at the table with key decision-makers.
- A collaborative team player with strong creative problem-solving skills.
- A proactive self-starter with the ability to consistently drive results and achieve ambitious targets.
- A high level of resilience and adaptability, with the capability to handle complex challenges and adjust strategies in a dynamic environment.
