Network Engineer - Perm

We are exclusively supporting one of Brisbane region customers with a key Network Engineering role. You will join a dynamic team at a leading organization, who are focused on delivering exceptional experiences for their customers.

They are currently looking for a passionate individual to help maintain a robust and secure technological foundation, overseeing critical network engineering activities to ensure the smooth operation, optimal performance, and ongoing security of their enterprise network. You'll play a key role in maintaining connectivity, troubleshooting issues, and implementing network improvements.

This role will offer strong work from home, but you will be required to visit site 1 day a week on the Gold Coast (north).

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity challenges to ensure high uptime.
• Perform routine network maintenance, including firmware updates and patch management.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware like routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Implement and support network security measures, including VPNs and ACLs.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting network-related issues for end-users.
• Collaborate on network design, upgrades, and optimization projects.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to respond to critical outages.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer.
• 1-3 years of data communications and general networking experience.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting enterprise and wireless networks.
• Experience with network monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Skills:

• Major network vendor certifications (e.g., CCNA).
• Experience with Cisco Meraki switches and access points.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
• Knowledge of managing firewalls in a multi-site high-availability environment.
