Role Description

One of our clients is looking for a highly skilled Developer with deep expertise in WordPress and WooCommerce, alongside solid experience with Shopify customizations. You will play a key role in building, customizing, and maintaining high-performance websites and e-commerce solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate is confident in leading projects or contributing as a high-level developer on complex builds.

Key Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to full-cycle development of WordPress/WooCommerce projects, including: Advanced theme and plugin development, Custom post types, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and backend architecture, WooCommerce checkout, payment gateways, and product logic customization
Perform moderate custom development and integrations in Shopify using Liquid, HTML/CSS, and Shopify APIs.
Optimize website performance, scalability, and security.
Work with designers and project managers to implement pixel-perfect UI from Figma or similar tools.
Debug and troubleshoot issues across platforms and plugins.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on timelines, priorities, and deliverables.
Stay up to date with the latest industry best practices and standards in WordPress and eCommerce development.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in WordPress development, with a strong WooCommerce background.
Strong PHP development skills and deep understanding of WordPress architecture.
Experience with custom theme and plugin development (not just modifications).
Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (vanilla and jQuery), and MySQL.
Moderate experience customizing Shopify themes and features.
Familiar with Git workflows and deployment best practices.
Ability to lead projects independently or work as part of a larger dev team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice-To-Have

Familiarity with Laravel and/or Vue.js for headless or hybrid projects.
Experience with site optimization (caching, lazy loading, asset optimization).
Understanding of accessibility and responsive web design best practices.
Previous agency experience or client-facing development work.
