Job Summary


Stormind Games is seeking a Game Director to lead a new project based on an established IP. This is a key role responsible for leading a team toward outstanding results, ensuring that the project reaches its full market potential and reflects Stormind Games’ creative and quality pillars.


Responsibilities


  • Define and maintain the game’s vision, in line with the overall direction established by the CCO.
  • Translate the vision into gameplay mechanics and features, ensuring coherence among narrative, design, art and gameplay.
  • Oversee all stages of development, from concept to post-launch, ensuring quality and adherence to milestones.
  • Lead and motivate the development team, fostering collaboration, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Production and Marketing to ensure clear and consistent communication of the game’s vision.
  • Manage resources and operational planning with Producers, maintaining a balance among creative ambition, production sustainability and project performance goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guide iteration to maximise product quality.
  • Analyze player and critic feedback to improve the game and inform future projects.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and company pillars related to IPs.
  • Contribute to achieving the project’s financial and ROI objectives, ensuring that creative and production choices support commercial success.


Requirements


  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the video game industry, including at least 2 years in a creative leadership role.
  • Proven experience working on AA/AAA titles or recognized IPs.
  • Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine, Jira, Google Drive Suite, and version control tools (Git, Perforce, SVN).
  • Familiarity with visual collaboration tools (Miro or similar).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Deep understanding of development pipelines, the video game market, and the economic and production dynamics that drive a game’s success.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience directing projects with strong critical and commercial recognition.
  • Experience managing international or distributed teams.
  • Ability to balance creative vision and economic sustainability, maximizing the project’s value within production constraints.
