Job description

The new team member will join an ambitious team: the Partner Portal team, which develops and maintains a self-service for Shift4’s commercial teams (both internal sales and external partners). This portal supports sales, customer service and support, merchant portfolio management, and several internal divisions, including L&D, Marketing, and Finance.

It has been operating successfully for over 2 years in the American market, and expansion into Europe has just begun.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Analysts, QA, and other team members to achieve elegant solutions which satisfy business needs, goals, and objectives;
  • Work alongside other Software Engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices as they relate to the project and general software engineering concepts;
  • Participate in and make improvements in continuous improvement of development processes, technical solutions. Test code via unit, integration and acceptance testing techniques to ensure delivery and quality goals are met;
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with deployed systems using a variety of techniques including direct engagement with support personnel and customers;
  • Participate (sometimes facilitate) Tech grooming and/or requirements gathering/validation sessions

Requirements:

  • Experience working with application building / programming
  • Solid experience working with backend development (would be great 5+ years)
  • Experience working with integrations, APIs, can write raw SQL, databases
  • Experience working with systems maintenance
  • Be familiar with agile software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability independently perform technical analysis with proactive communication / contacting team members or other related squads
  • Be flexible and demonstrate the ability to execute on deadlines
  • Experience working in an international context and solid English (written and spoken)

Technical stack includes:



  • Programming Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Backend Framework: NestJS
  • Frontend Technologies: Experience with JavaScript frameworks React
  • Database: Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL etc.)
  • ORM: TypeORM
  • Version Control: Git
  • Containerization: Docker
  • Testing: Jest for unit and e2e testing, nice to have - Cypress (for end-to-end testing) or Vitest (for unit and integration testing), Testing Library (React)
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS (version 3.2.4), PostCSS
  • Linting and Formatting: ESLint, Prettier, Stylelint
  • Nice to have - build Tools: Vite (as the project bundler and dev server), Rollup (implied by Vite ecosystem)

Other Skills:

  • Experience with Node.js and npm (must)
  • Familiarity with Redis caching
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture (must)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Proficiency in frontend development tools and libraries (e.g., Storybook, SWC, Axios, React Router, Lexical, ReactQuery, LogRocket, MSW, Joi and etc.)
  • Experience with: DataDog, Sentry, Twilio, DocuSign
  • Experience with event-streaming software/architectures (Kafka, etc)

The salary range for this position is starting at 5500 Eur Gross. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience.
