About the project: the focus is on the work necessary for integrating search and discovery data and features. A perfect candidate will be proficient in search engines, APIs, recommender systems, machine learning, AI, data engineering, e-commerce, algorithm design, and automotive industry data (both after-market and OEM).

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering with Node.js, Python, or similar.
- 3+ years of experience with search technologies: OpenSearch, ElasticSearch (Solr/Algolia a plus).
- 2+ years of experience with SQL & NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB), caching (Redis/Memcached).
- 2+ years of experience in ML/AI/NLP.
- 2+ years of experience with microservices or APIs.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS or 3 years of experience with another comparable cloud platform.
- Knowledge of search algorithms: indexing, relevance, ranking, and personalization.
- Experience developing & optimizing REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices.
- Understanding of API security, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Understanding performance optimization & scalability, as well as monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Knowledge of version control (Git), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate business requirements.
- Understanding building ETL/data pipelines (Twilio Segment is desirable).
- Experience with E-commerce or retail.
- Build and maintain the search backend (indexing, filtering, ranking).
- Optimize search relevance and ranking algorithms with data/DS teams.
- Scale and optimize search infrastructure (caching, load balancing).
- Design and maintain data pipelines (product data, user behavior, search logs).
- Develop secure, scalable APIs for frontend integration (results, filters, facets).
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and troubleshoot search performance issues.
- Run A/B tests and experiments to improve search quality and engagement.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and UX teams to align on search experience goals.
- US and EU projects based on advanced technologies.
