Key responsibilities

• Data quality and integrity: Monitor data quality, perform statistical tests, and identify inconsistencies in datasets.
• Data cleansing and preparation: Clean, transform, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure it is accurate and suitable for analysis.
• Process improvement: Evaluate system performance and design to find what affects data quality. Collaborate with database developers to improve data collection and storage processes.
• Analysis and reporting: Run data queries to identify issues, clean data, and interpret trends. They then report findings to management and other stakeholders to inform business decisions.
• Documentation and standards: Document processes, maintain data records, and establish best practices and standards for data governance.
• Stakeholder communication: Clearly present complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences to ensure insights are actionable.

Required skills and knowledge

• Technical skills: Proficiency in SQL and data profiling techniques are essential. Experience with tools like Power BI for modeling, visualization, and reporting is often required.
• Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and develop solutions.
• Soft skills: Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are crucial for collaborating with teams and explaining findings to stakeholders.
• Business understanding: The ability to understand business needs and how data quality impacts those needs.
