Full-timeRemote FriendlyInformation Technology

The Network Administrator is responsible for the daily operation, health, and security of Nature’s Path network infrastructure across offices, plants, and cloud environments. This role manages switches, firewalls, routers, wireless APs, and networked security systems -ensuring high uptime, low latency, and a productive user experience. This is an individual contributor role, reporting into the Director of IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate & Maintain the Network

  • Administer and support switches, routers, firewalls, and enterprise WiFi (planning, deployment, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management).
  • Monitor network performance and availability; troubleshoot L1–L3 issues (routing, switching, DHCP/DNS, VPNs, wireless roaming, interference).
  • Maintain device configurations, backups, and standard templates; ensure firmware and patch hygiene.

Secure & Harden

  • Implement and maintain firewall policies, VPNs (site-to-site & remote), ACLs, VLAN segmentation, and 802.1X/NAC where applicable.
  • Proactively monitor for threats and respond to security events in partnership with infrastructure and security teams.
  • Align with internal security policies and audit requirements; maintain audit-ready documentation.

Wireless & Edge

  • Design, optimize, and support high-density WiFi across offices and plant environments; analyze spectrum and roaming.
  • Support network-connected security systems (e.g., IP cameras/NVRs, door access) in our facilities.

Service & Collaboration

  • Provide Tier 1-3 escalation support for network incidents and changes.
  • Partner with server, cloud, and application teams on deployments (e.g., VLANs, load balancing, QoS).
  • Assist with other Infrastructure Team tests when network work is light, ensuring team goals are met.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain accurate and current network topology, IPAM, and change records.
  • Contribute to standards, runbooks, and post-incident reviews; recommend continuous improvements.

Afterhours Support

  • Not part of the primary on-call rotation, but must be available for escalation in case of critical network emergencies.
  • Support planned afterhours change/patch windows (evenings, Pacific Time) to minimize user impact—especially for firewalls, switches, and wireless APs.
  • Provide remote or onsite support during critical maintenance or major incidents that affect production operations (some plant operations run 24×7).

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years administering enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar).
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP, routing & switching, VLANs, STP, DHCP/DNS, VPNs, LLDP, RADIUS, and WiFi.
  • Experience managing firewall policies, site-to-site/remote access VPN, and network monitoring (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, or similar).
  • Clear, concise documentation and communication; ability to drive issues to closure.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Cloud networking (Azure preferred): VNets, VPN/ExpressRoute, NSGs/UDRs, private endpoints, hub-and-spoke.
  • Familiarity with SDWAN, SASE, and ZeroTrust concepts and platforms.
  • Experience with 802.1X/NAC, certificate-based auth, and segmentation strategies.
  • WiFi design (predictive & survey tools), RF troubleshooting, WPA3/Enterprise.
  • Experience with ITSM workflows (e.g., Halo ITSM/ServiceNow/JSM) and change management.
  • Familiarity with industrial/plant environments (redundancy, HA pairs, maintenance windows).
  • Exposure to audit frameworks (e.g., SOC 2) and evidence readiness.
  • Certifications (nice to have): CCNA/CCNP, Network+, NSE/PCNSE, CWNA/CWNP, AZ700 or equivalent.

This is a hybrid role (three days in office) and will pay between $90,000 - $115,000/year.
