About The Role

We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist (Arabic Speaker) to lead and support data management and governance initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory frameworks while driving the implementation of best practices in data governance — particularly within the government sector or environmental management contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across systems and departments.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data ownership, classification, and usage standards.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor adherence to data governance policies.
• Manage metadata, master data, and data lineage documentation to enhance data transparency.
• Support data-related risk management, privacy, and protection activities.
• Provide training and awareness programs to promote data governance culture across the organization.
• Liaise with government entities and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with Qatar’s national data standards and frameworks.
• Work closely with IT and data teams to integrate governance practices into data platforms and systems.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 4–6 years of proven experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
• Experience working in government institutions or environmental management organizations is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM).
• Familiarity with data quality management, metadata management, and master data governance tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks in Qatar or GCC.
• Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Talend, Alation).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
