About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled iOS Engineer to design, develop, and enhance our mobile application for airline passengers. We are seeking an engineer who is willing to tackle problems with innovative ideas and deliver high-quality technical implementations. In this role, you will play a key part in empowering passengers worldwide to claim and protect their rights. You will lead and shape the technical direction of our mobile development efforts, contribute innovative ideas for modernization, and grow into a leadership position within the engineering team.


This role reports directly to the Head of IT and has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the CEO.


What You Bring:

  • Several years of professional iOS app development experience, preferably on apps with a large user base, with proven successes in the field.
  • Skilled in leveraging Apple frameworks to build reliable and efficient applications.
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns and the ability to apply them in complex projects to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Strong design and coding skills (Swift/Java/Objective-C/UIKit).
  • Experience writing automated tests, including unit and snapshot tests.
  • Prior experience with CI/CD tools, with a focus on improving and streamlining the build, test, and deployment process.
  • Knowledgeable in aspects of the mobile development lifecycle, including application development, application structure, device and operating system APIs, debugging, performance, security, and deployment
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery with Apple and Google App Stores
  • Utilization and integration of mobile features like Push Notifications, Background Loading, Offline Content Storage, etc.
  • Genuine interest in staying up to date with the latest developments in the iOS ecosystem and continuously improving your craft.
  • Practical understanding of design patterns and UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience in LegalTech, TravelTech, Airlines & Aviation, and/or Travel Arrangements industries would be a great asset.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian would be beneficial for cooperation with our broader technical team, but it is not a must-have requirement.


What You Will Do:

  • LEAD the efforts of designing, developing, and refining our iOS app dedicated to airline passengers.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and a high-quality user experience for passengers worldwide.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and product owners to deliver high-quality services and features.
  • Develop and continuously modernize our app, focusing on user experience while maintaining a high-quality codebase and iteratively improving performance.
  • Build and maintain testable, maintainable, and scalable code aligned with iOS best practices.
  • Maintain and improve our app infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement analytics in all aspects of the application and analyze results.
  • Coordinate app releases.
  • Care about writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Create a clear and concise technical work breakdown that can be easily understood and executed by any team member, regardless of their level of seniority.
  • Identify system bottlenecks, reduce build times, improve modularization, and lead structural improvements.

Job Type: Indefinite-term Freelancing Contract / Service Agreement or a B2B Contract
