Position Overview:

The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. The role involves monitoring network systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing upgrades to support business continuity and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and network appliances.
  • Perform regular network backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Maintain network security through access controls, firewalls, and antivirus measures.
  • Troubleshoot network outages, connectivity issues, and hardware/software failures.
  • Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for network hardware and ISP support.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Assist in network capacity planning and scalability improvements.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or innovations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar network devices.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux server administration.
  • Understanding of network security practices and firewalls.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Fortinet NSE.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Knowledge of VoIP systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience with network automation using tools like Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.
