📢 Freelance Network Security Engineer (1 Day On-Site + 4 Days Remote per Week)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to join us on a part-time freelance basis. This role combines on-site presence with remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cisco networking and firewall technologies, and a proven ability to support and secure enterprise-level environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and optimise Cisco network infrastructure
• Administer and support firewall platforms (Cisco ASA/FTD or similar)
• Monitor network security, analyse incidents, and respond to threats
• Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and best practices
• Troubleshoot network and security issues both remotely and on-site
• Support ongoing security projects and infrastructure improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience as a Network Security Engineer
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and security technologies
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (Cisco Firepower, ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, and segmentation
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP Security, CCIE Security) beneficial
