Grundium Oy is redefining digital pathology with cutting-edge technology that brings precision and efficiency to medical diagnostics. Headquartered in Tampere, Finland, we design and manufacture the Ocus® series of compact, high-performance microscope slide scanners that enable faster and more reliable digital workflows for healthcare and research professionals worldwide.
Our mission is to improve the quality of care through innovation and reliability – and we’re now looking for Software Quality Engineers to join our skilled and passionate team in Tampere.
About the roles
As a Software Quality Engineer at Grundium, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products – seamlessly combining embedded SW, cloud, and user interfaces – meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. In this role, you will contribute both to test automation and to hands-on manual testing that keeps our entire product ecosystem running smoothly.
We’re open to different levels of experience. We have a need for an already skilled test automation professional capable of mentoring others and driving continuous improvement in software quality processes, or for a systematic and technically oriented hands-on tester who is eager to grow into automation testing in the future. Depending on your experience, your initial focus area will be tailored to your strengths.
You will be part of an experienced QA team with a well-established automation framework and a collaborative culture.
Your key responsibilities – depending on your focus area
- Develop, maintain, and improve automated test cases, primarily using Robot Framework.
- Perform system-level manual testing across our microscope devices, cloud services, and user interfaces.
- Investigate, reproduce, and document issues in collaboration with developers and other teams.
- Contribute to test strategy development and process improvements within the QA team.
- Support both new and legacy product testing to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
Competencies we’re looking for
- Genuine interest in software testing, automation, and product quality.
- Experience in test automation (Robot Framework experience or readiness to learn).
- Ability to perform systematic manual and exploratory testing and communicate findings clearly.
- Familiarity with Python, Linux, Git, Docker, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
- Collaborative, structured, and curious way of working.
Nice to have skills
- Experience in medical technology or other regulated industries.
- Exposure to end-to-end system testing involving both hardware and software.
Why Grundium
At Grundium, innovation meets purpose. We design and build digital microscope scanners that help doctors and researchers around the world make the right diagnosis faster and easier.
Here’s why you’ll enjoy working with us:
- Meaningful impact: Have a direct influence on product quality and on the reliability of technology that truly matters in healthcare.
- Skilled colleagues: Be part of a highly skilled QA team with established automation frameworks and strong collaboration.
