Reporting to the CTO and working closely with the VP of Digital Health Technology, the primary duties of this role will be to design and develop backend services as part of the Vitalograph Digital Health Platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining services to support web and mobile applications. You will work closely with other development teams and cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, product managers, and regulatory experts, to ensure our software meets industry standards and enhances patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend services as part of a complete digital heath system.
- Designing and implementing server-side logic by building the backend infrastructure that powers applications and APIs.
- Creating, managing, and optimizing databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Designing and maintaining (RESTful or GraphQL) APIs for seamless communication between frontend and backend.
- Develop standalone backend services which powers a plug-and-play platform.
- Collaborate with Apps and web engineers to ensure seamless integration of all components.
- Design and implement real-time services using C#, .NET, SQL Server, Java, Python, Node.
- Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of backend services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Ensure that all work and tasks carried out are consistent and compliant with Vitalograph’s SOPs.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to industry standards and best practice.
- Computer Science Degree or equivalent engineering degree that includes software development.
- 3+ years’ experience as a backend developer.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
- Expertise in SQL databases, Java, Python, Node.
- Experience with git source code control, code review tools, etc.
- Experience with the Microsoft technology stack, which includes .NET Core, Web API, and SQL Server.
- Proficiency in RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
- Pro-active, with proven ability to work under own initiative, while being a strong team player.
