Java developer

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join an agile development team working on large-scale, high-availability platforms. This is a full remote position, but you must be based in Portugal to be eligible.

What you will do

As part of the team, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, including:

• Designing technical solutions and contributing to architecture discussions
• Developing clean, efficient, and testable code
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation, flowcharts, and component designs
• Writing unit, integration, and component tests with support from QA
• Deploying services in a CI/CD environment
• Supporting product requirements and actively contributing with technical insights

Tech Stack & Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Java (Java 8+ preferred)
• Experience working with high concurrency / high transactional / highly available platforms
• Familiarity with REST, SOAP, and client-server architectures
• Knowledge or interest in technologies such as:
• Scala, Kafka, Akka, Memcached
• Apache Storm, Apache Cassandra, Zookeeper, RabbitMQ
• Solid understanding of design patterns and reusable architecture principles
