As our Category Buyer you will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure we offer the right products at the right price, always meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

How you can contribute:

• Responsible for sales/margin performance and customer proposition across all channels for selected categories
• Owns deep range performance analysis with frequency and consistency incl rotation, high stock, tail, attachment, project completion, price, margin, etc
• Negotiate acquisition prices, local commercial conditions, manage the local contracting process with vendors, drive yearly improvements according to established targets
• Manages relationship with other sourcing offices (such as Far East) to deliver in time and in full products agreed in the implementation of our trading plan.
• Manage local vendor performance; maximize profitability while mitigating risk Analyze product components and manufacturing processes, define costing of product
• Following raw material price evolution and impacts, constantly searching for cost price reduction opportunities
• Work with Supply & Logistics to exit plan old ranges from DC and stores while protecting margin, and agree stock requirements for new ranges
• Determine how to react to trading performance issues through tactical trading activity working with relevant functions
• Negotiates and delivers in time spot buys, bundle deals, end caps deals and vendor contribution in line with the Trading plan laid out.

What will you bring to the table:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or delivering product range to the market.
• Background in Retail DIY is highly valued and will be an advantage in the selection process.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into a range of recommendations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Robust Negotiation skills with proven results, strong commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of product cost structure, value chain and retail trading techniques.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally.
• Proficient in MS Office and reporting tools.
• Accountable for resolving category range and trading issues raised by stores.
• Be the stakeholders of all the local contracts and ensure constructive cooperation with all related departments.
