We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join the team at Ruby Studio in Turkiye! In this central role, you will help shape the player experience by designing intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that bring clarity, delight, and style to our games across the Ruby portfolio.
You will collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and developers, learning from their expertise while ensuring our UI/UX vision is implemented smoothly in Unity. Our agile team thrives on collaboration, and you'll play a key supporting role in championing user-centered design and helping the team balance speed, creativity, and usability.
You can be based in either Istanbul or Izmir, where majority of the team is currently located.
You will have impact and fun at work by:
- Design and create UI/UX for mobile games, focusing on clear, player-centric experiences that support both usability and engagement.
- Assist in developing UI/UX flows, wireframes, and visual layouts from early concept to final implementation, ensuring they align with gameplay and product goals.
- Prepare and integrate UI and 2D assets (icons, backgrounds, basic animations) directly into Unity, under the guidance of senior team members, to ensure visual consistency.
- Collaborate closely within the cross-functional team (designers, artists, developers), actively participating in planning and design discussions.
- Document and communicate design requirements and rationale clearly to the team to support successful implementation.
- Stay informed on market trends and reference games, sharing interesting insights with the team.
- Contribute creative ideas for game features, thinking about how UI/UX solutions can enhance the player experience.
- Experience as a UX/UI designer, preferably within the game industry or mobile apps.
- Experience with implementing basic UI elements in game engines, preferably Unity 3D.
- Familiarity with the principles of Design Thinking and user-centered design approaches.
- Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to identify design challenges and opportunities.
- Excellent ability to communicate ideas through verbal, written, and visual means.
- Strong collaboration skills and a proactive approach to working within a cross-functional team.
- Good understanding of mobile game usability principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in design tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and other wireframing tools.
- A well-developed sense of colour and composition.
