About The Role

As a Technical Lead at MistyWest, you'll drive the technical vision and system design to solve client challenges. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, collaborate closely with clients and project managers, and stay hands-on with key technologies like sensors, optics, and motion control to deliver innovative products across industries.

Accountabilities

  • Understand client goals and define technical solutions that align with their vision
  • Translate product requirements into clear technical tasks and project plans
  • Guide the team through implementation, problem-solving, and delivery
  • Communicate effectively with clients, managing expectations and weekly check-ins
  • Own the product roadmap and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Ensure high-quality, technically sound deliverables
  • Lead complex, multi-party projects and collaborate with external partners
  • Identify opportunities for IP reuse and process improvements
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal technical leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years leading complex electro mechanical or embedded product development, including hardware firmware integration
  • Strong hands on background in embedded systems design including MCU selection, schematics, PCB review, sensor integration, power management, and firmware development (C/C++)
  • Experience with hardware in the loop testing, system bring up, debugging with lab instruments, and reliability validation
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver projects using standard project management tools and practices
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across electrical, firmware, mechanical, software, and manufacturing and working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving skills, high curiosity, and a learning oriented mindset
  • Asset. Experience with motion control, optics, or high precision sensing systems
