An exciting temporary opportunity exists for a an experienced clinician to fill this challenging role to manage and lead the Early Psychosis Program (EPP) team - a specialist multi-disciplinary team providing evidence-based care to in the delivery of a comprehensive, integrated, innovative mental health service to young people aged 14 – 25 who have recently experienced a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP). The EPP Clinical Manager will oversee the development and provision of high-quality evidence based clinical services, including assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review that meets the needs of young adults referred to the service with a first episode of psychosis or emerging significant mental health concerns.
The Early Psychosis Program (EPP) is a specialist multi-disciplinary team providing evidence-based care to young people aged 14 – 25 who have recently experienced a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP), or who are at Ultra High Risk (UHR) of experiencing psychosis, based on Australian Clinical Guidelines for Early Psychosis. The EPP Clinical Lead provides leadership for this multidisciplinary team of 5 – 10 FTE.

Based at Bondi Junction Community Mental Health Centre, ESMHS Bondi Junction with some travel to other SESLHD MHS sites as required

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.
- Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW or Occupational Therapist with current registration with AHPRA. Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), and completion of 12 months at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologists. For Clinical Psychologists, full Registration with the PsyBA, with endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology, and a minimum two-year full-time accredited Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology. Nurse with current registration with AHPRA with a minimum 5 years full time equivalent post qualification experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Mental Health with postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in practice.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in mental health assessment and treatment including individual and family interventions and demonstrated understanding of the contemporary theory and direction of youth mental health, particularly early intervention.
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
