About The Role
As Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), you’ll play a key strategic role in leading AUSMASA’s project governance, performance, and delivery.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Workforce Intelligence & Delivery, you’ll drive consistency and excellence across AUSMASA’s project portfolio, ensuring alignment with our strategic priorities and government expectations. You’ll oversee project planning, coordination, financial oversight, and reporting, while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This is a leadership role where you’ll help build AUSMASA’s project management capability, guide cross-functional teams, and enable the successful delivery of transformational projects that strengthen Australia’s skills system.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the ongoing implementation, and improvement of AUSMASA’s project management framework, tools, and methodologies
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and delivery across core-funded and Annual Activity Schedule projects
- Manage interdependencies, risks, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Provide strategic advice and reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and Board on project performance and outcomes
- Lead financial management for projects, including budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic reporting
- Guide and mentor project leads, supporting capability uplift and consistency in project management practice
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration across all project teams
You’re an experienced project management leader with a strong grasp of governance, financial oversight, and delivery excellence. You’re equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and getting into the detail when needed, with the ability to influence, coach, and bring people together to achieve results.
You Bring
- A postgraduate qualification in project management, business administration, or a related field
- Extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and portfolios
- Deep understanding of Australia’s VET system and the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
- Strong leadership and people management skills, able to motivate and support diverse teams
- Excellent relationship management and facilitation capability
- High-level analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement ability
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes
