How will you make an impact?

One of our team members is retiring and therefore we are now looking for a new Technical Product Owner to join us in Vantaa.

Joining an international team comprising 5 professionals, you will play a key role in shaping operational processes. To excel in this position, a strong foundation in software development is essential, along with the ability to collaborate successfully with a variety of individuals.

We are looking for someone who can translate needs into requirements, clear backlogs, and guide a team in an Agile manner. The role does not involve supervisory responsibility, but it does involve a certain amount of team leadership responsibility. Previous involvement with clinical products or functioning within a regulated setting is deemed favorable.

What will you do?

  • Management of Development Backlog: Control and prioritize the software development backlog. Construct, polish, and prioritize user stories and requirements, steering the team towards the most valuable features. Preserve clear and structured product requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborator Communication: Act as the main connection between collaborators and the development team. Engage with users, product managers, and other interested parties to collect feedback and lead expectations on feature delivery and timelines.
  • Requirements Collection & Clarification: Translate broad concepts into concrete specifications. Collaborate closely with collaborators to dissect requirements into specific user stories and technical tasks. Establish a common understanding of project needs among team members.
  • Sprint Planning and Agile Leadership: Lead Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Clarify backlog items, set priorities, and ensure delivered increments meet acceptance criteria.
  • Technical Collaboration: Employ your technical knowledge to influence decision-making and promote effective communication with developers. Explore technical remedies to secure harmony with product specifications and vision.
  • Release Planning & Delivery: Plan product releases and ensure timely software updates. Coordinate release timelines and content, balancing new features with bug fixes and technical debt.
  • Quality and Compliance: Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure software compliance with relevant standards. Navigate compliance in a regulated environment, focusing on design controls and validation.

What will you need?

  • Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Product Ownership: 5+ years of experience in a similar role with a consistent record in backlog management, requirement definition, and agile delivery.
  • Technical Background: Proficiency in software development or engineering with experience in C#/.NET, WPF, and SQL Server.
  • Tool Familiarity: Familiarity with Visual Studio, GitHub, and Azure DevOps for tracking progress and collaborating with the team.
  • Agile/Scrum Proficiency: Deep understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and experience leading Scrum rituals.
  • Communication & Leadership Skills: Demonstrates excellent communication, presentation, and social skills. Shown ability to align diverse collaborator groups around a common product vision.
  • Proficient communication skills in English - Finnish is considered advantageous.
