Some of what you will do:
The HR Business Partner is a key partner for associates and leaders within different areas of the business and supports all HR related activities and initiatives. The HRBP works with management and non-management associates to identify issues which may affect associate engagement, commitment and effectiveness and assesses opportunities to improve and strengthen communication and working relationships. This role will support Retail Store, Supply Chain, and Print Hub teams.
Specifically, You Will
- Identify issues which may affect associate commitment & effectiveness through site visits, meetings with field representatives, etc. and partner with management to establish, maintain and enhance an engaging work environment.
- Provide counsel and support to Managers in managing performance. Assist with progressive counseling, action plans and documentation. Prepare for and partner with managers to conduct terminations if required.
- Communicate and partner with all associates regarding performance concerns, progressive counseling, work or work/life issues; policy issues; requests for information.
- Work with associates to ensure that any concerns or issues identified are investigated and resolved appropriately. Support return to work plans
- Collect and prepare all data required for investigations in order to ensure legislative compliance.
- Assist and support the coordination of developmental activity for Internal development programs.
- Lead succession planning initiatives with management teams to develop a pool of talent to meet current and future needs.
- Consult with Management Teams in the facilities on optimizing human capital regarding motivation, resource planning, orientation initiatives etc. Analyze trends and best practices surrounding these topics and make recommendations and provide solutions that will support and enhance ongoing initiatives within the facilities.
- University Degree/Post Secondary Education preferred.
- Certificate/Degree in Human Resources Management preferred.
- Previous experience in retail and/or supply chain management is an asset
- Microsoft Office – proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Working Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, Health and Safety Legislation and other relevant employment Legislation.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels within the organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences, using the appropriate format
- Understands need for discretion and confidentiality.
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize when faced with competing demands
- 5 years previous progressive experience in Human resources required in the areas of employee relations, recruitment and training.
- On-site work: This role requires working on-site at our facilities 4 days per week.
- Monthly travel: Expect to travel to the Kitchener, ON facility 1–2 times per month.
- Flexible hours: To support our 24-hour shift operations, you may occasionally work early mornings or late evenings, up to 2–3 times per month.
