As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will support strategic and operational decision-making within the Reinforcement Materials Segment, with a strong focus on global raw materials. This crucial role is responsible for ensuring Cabot remains ahead of competition in terms of market intelligence, meets sustainability goals, expenditure analysis and understanding, and new opportunity coordination and development. This role involves extensive cross-functional interface with finance, supply chain, manufacturing, technical, accounting, digital, and commercial organizations as well as external suppliers, traders, market analysts, consultants and customers.
Cabot utilizes fuel oil, natural gas, and bio-based feedstock sources from a variety of large multinational companies across a number of oil and gas refining, petrochemical, steel, and bio-based industries. The global supply chain involves 100’s of suppliers for 20+ manufacturing plants with supply chains reaching around the world. As the single largest expenditure (>>$1B/yr) with ever evolving market conditions, this role offers an ever dynamic and interesting developmental opportunity.
How You Will Make An Impact
In this role, the primary responsibility is to identify, collect, analyze, monitor, and report the critical global feedstock information, including but not limited to, feedstock supply & demand, pricing, macroeconomy, participate in sourcing studies, regulatory indicators, competitors’ movements, supply data analysis, and dynamics of players along the entire feedstocks value chain.
The Sr. Business Analyst will collaborate in strategic partnership & collaboration with the global feedstock sourcing team as well as with other colleagues within the market intelligence community for proprietary database and analytics system building to optimize feedstock supply and sustainable value creation strategies.
You will also support global projects with ad hoc analyses and will contribute to data-driven decision-making by delivering actionable insights that drive profitability, efficiency, and growth.
- Market Intelligence
- Monitor and analyze market conditions including prices, availability, and demand for both traditional and alternative emerging bio-based feedstocks.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, environmental policies, and emerging trends that may impact feedstock supply.
- Develop, coordinate, and support competitive assessment development to support global strategy development.
- Establish a network of contacts to enhance market intelligence and leverage these data sources to improve analyses and generate insights.
- Data Analysis
- Conduct analyses to interpret and explain activities; identify trends and patterns. Prepare and maintain standardized data views and analytics for monthly, quarterly, annual, and project-based analysis for the business, while sustaining data accuracy.
- Analyses of market fundamentals and pricing structures, trade flows, competitor production profiles and other industry information to support supply and Business Intelligence efforts.
- Maintain and improve existing market intelligence databases and analytical solutions. Improve efficiency of data analysis, visualization, and reporting (deploying Power BI solutions, automation, etc.) to analyze and feedstock costs/demand and optimize supply strategies.
- Generate and coordinate reports/insights to support decision-making processes and value-based opportunities.
- Internal and External Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, R&D, finance, and sustainability teams, to align regions with short- and long-term supply goals.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate, understand, and explain the “why” of feedstocks trends and financial basis.
- Explore and recommend compliance practices with environmental regulations and sustainability standards related to feedstock sourcing.
- Documentation, Reporting, and Tools
- Development of pricing actuals and forecast assumptions with collaboration of internal team and external industry tools.
- Support process and procedure development and improvement within this role and global feedstocks team.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management to track supply chain performance and value-based metrics.
- Project Coordination and Support
- Drives or participates in critical Global and Regional projects or initiatives.
- Supports Feedstock supply initiatives requiring inter-regional coordination.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in market or supply analysis, pricing, or economic research.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Proven collaboration skills across global and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry is an advantage.
- Knowledge of feedstock markets is a plus.
- Excellent English, with strong communication and presentation skills.

- Salary: 2610 - 3800 EUR Gross. The final salary offer will depend on the candidate’s previous experience and qualifications.
