ABOUT THE ROLE
mPower Technology has an immediate need for a Senior Director/VP of Business Development responsible for connecting customers across government and commercial sectors with our industry leading space power products. The Senior Director/VP of Business Development will develop and execute strategic plans, build partnerships, and create and manage sales pipelines to achieve the mPower’s sales and financial objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expanding and managing mPower’s customer pipeline in all market segments and ensuring the achievement of sales targets.
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key channel partners, including commercial and government prime aerospace contractors.
- Developing and executing strategies to secure new business, including identifying opportunities, crafting proposals, and negotiating contracts.
- Developing pricing strategies and sales forecasts and setting and achieving revenue targets.
- Identifying new market and customer opportunities and potential partnerships.
- Creating commercial quotes and proposals and negotiating and closing high-value deals across all phases of the sales lifecycle.
- Contributing to the development of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts related to business development activities.
- Identifying customer needs and requirements to optimize mPower’s product roadmap.
- Developing and managing a business development department budget and setting priorities for strategic technical investment to qualify strategic customers.
- Developing deep relationships with the current and prospective customer base and facilitating the translation of their requirements into mPower products.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
- Experience and successful track record selling into large complex multi-national manufacturing commercial companies and government contractors.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial acquisition processes, government contracting, and the commercial space landscape.
- Understanding of the space-based solar industry and competitive landscape, including extensive awareness of ongoing commercial space satellite programs.
- Familiarity with solar cell product development and a background in silicon PV products.
- Experience leading, managing, and growing geographically disperse teams on fast-paced projects.
- General knowledge of industry specific technical requirements and quality requirements.
- Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) systems, business intelligence tools, and financial metrics.
- Preference for a candidate with positive existing relationships with decision makers in large satellite manufacturers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree with a preference for a degree in engineering or technical discipline.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles selling into aerospace manufacturing or other similar manufacturing industry.
Must be a U.S. citizen or Greencard holder.
