Your Role And Responsibilities

As an entry level Quality Engineer at IBM, your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best. Come work in an agile environment where you will help each iteration reach the next level. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike. In your role you may be responsible for:

• Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.
• Create test data and test environments
• Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution
• Identify, understand, and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program, application or set of applications
• Do a deep-dive and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

A person focused on detecting and preventing failures during all phases of software solution development, ensuring proper functioning and a positive customer experience. In addition to analyzing post-production evolution and performance, gathering feedback, and proposing improvements. Requires knowledge of quality standards, practices, and tools to carry out this role.

Knowledge of tools that support the testing cycle in software development

Technical/theoretical knowledge of some of the following tools and programming languages such as Python, Java, SQL, ChatGPT, and artificial intelligence that facilitate the generation of accelerators for the execution of different types of tests. Proficiency in testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, BrowserStack, UFT, Selenium, Cypress, Jenkins, and those related to test and defect management such as ALM.
