About Penomo

Penomo is building the infrastructure for financing renewable energy projects through asset tokenization. Our platform enables asset owners to raise capital from global investors via secure, compliant digital workflows. Backed by early funding, we’re now scaling our platform and want you to help shape it.

We’re transitioning into an AI-first engineering team. We are leveraging tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and AI-based planning/testing automation to optimize how we plan features, manage projects, and deliver production-ready software.

This role is for one dedicated engineer who can independently lead their own full-stack sprint cycle. This is something that would normally require several people on a traditional team. You’ll work closely with our founders and a small supporting team while using AI to accelerate execution without compromising security or quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead your own sprint cycle. Plan, scope, develop, test, and deploy features end-to-end.
• Build and maintain MERN stack components (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
• Design and implement AI-powered functionality (prompt flows, document parsing, LLM integrations).
• Manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to increase automation for testing and security.
• Deploy and monitor apps on AWS (ECS, CloudWatch, IAM).
• Maintain clean, testable, well-documented code across services.
• Apply secure coding and enterprise compliance best practices throughout the stack.
• Collaborate with founders and teammates to align technical roadmap with business goals.
• Participate in retrospectives and continuously improve AI-aided engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• 5 + years of experience building production-grade applications.
• Strong full-stack skills (React, Node.js, MongoDB).
• Proven track record deploying and scaling apps in cloud environments.
• Solid DevOps experience (AWS, CI/CD, observability, incident response).
• Strong understanding of secure coding and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Comfortable leading your own sprint and owning delivery end-to-end.
• Experience in using Claude Code for AI-first software engineering.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams or a strong desire to grow into a lead role.
• Comfort with startup-style flexibility and iterative development.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with smart contracts and tokenization (Solidity, ERC standards).
• Knowledge of NIS2, ISO 27001, or SOC2 implementation.
