CYBER SECURITY OPERATIONS ENGINEER

locations: Slovakia or Sweden

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Cyber Security Operations Engineer, you will be at the forefront of protecting our organization’s data, systems, and networks, with a particular focus on Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID and public cloud environments. You will collaborate with IT, R&D, and external partners to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures. This position is open in Sweden (preferably Stockholm) or Slovakia (preferably Bratislava), with flexible and remote working options. The Security Operations Engineer will report to the manager of Group IT Infrastructure & Operations ad interim, until the Security Operations Team will be formed in 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and manage security controls for Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID ensuring secure identity management and access control across hybrid and cloud environments.
• Manage and operate endpoint security solutions, including EDR/XDR, PKI, Identity Management, Cloud Security, DLP, email filtering and protection, CASB, SASE and Active Directory.
• Interact with the external Security Operation Center. Respond to and remediate system and/or network security breaches.
• Lead initiatives to secure public cloud platforms (Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), including configuration, monitoring, and incident response.
• Ensure the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling appropriate security controls recommend and implement improvements.
• Implement mitigation plans when security gaps or threats are identified.
• Ensure APIs follow best practices for authentication, access control and logging.
• Stay updated on information technology security research and trends, especially in cloud security and identity management.
• Coordinate with internal and external peers, suppliers, and contractors for daily operations and project activities.
• Assist system owners in onboarding to endpoint security solutions and provide support during installation and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain security documentation and automated reporting dashboards.

WHAT’S NEEDED FOR YOU TOTHRIVE

• Experience working in enterprise environments, globally distributed teams and across different cultures.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stress management skills.
• Strong understanding of API protocols, authentication mechanisms, and security best practices.
• Strong hands-on experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including identity protection, conditional access, and hybrid identity management.
• Proven expertise in public cloud security (Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), including cloud security posture management, cloud workload protection, and cloud-native security tools.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Familiarity with container technologies.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in security operations or engineering.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Degree in IT, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• Experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC solutions is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) is considered a plus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity tools in the Artificial Intelligence field (Microsoft Presidio, Prompt Shield) is considered a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent are a plus.
