Software Test Engineer

StartupHeroes is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and documenting software defects and performance issues across multiple platforms. You will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test programs covering areas such as database validation, regression, and usability testing. Additionally, you will participate in product design reviews, provide input on functional requirements, and ensure software compatibility across systems, hardware, and network environments. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will help enhance product quality through continuous testing, automation, and process improvement.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, build, and maintain robust automated and manual test cases for regression and sanity testing.
• Execute, update, and track test results across multiple environments.
• Review, validate, and document defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute creative ideas to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure high-quality releases.

What You Should Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of professional experience testing web applications.
• Solid understanding of Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) and testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Java for test automation scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git).
• Knowledge of API, regression, and compatibility testing.
• You design and maintain clear, reusable, and reliable test cases and automation scripts, with a strong focus on quality and precision.
• You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you.

Nice to Have

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cypress, Appium, or Rest Assured.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform, for environment provisioning and automation setup.
