Location: Hyderabad (Interview Place)

Eligibility: Only candidates currently based in India will be considered.

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• M.Tech in Structural / Geotechnical / Environmental Engineering preferred

Experience

• Minimum 17 years of experience in Civil & Structural Design and Engineering
• Preferably from Substation / Power Transmission / Power Distribution / Oil & Gas / Fertilizer / Infrastructure industries
• Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in a Lead or Project Engineering Management capacity

Position Objective / Purpose

The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will lead the civil and structural design and detailing activities for Substation Projects (11kV to 765kV) under PTD IC and UPD projects.

This role involves complete responsibility from pre-bid engineering to as-built documentation, ensuring high-quality, optimized, and timely delivery of design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor civil & structural engineering deliverables for assigned projects.
• Prepare and execute the Engineering Plan aligned with project timelines.
• Lead and mentor a team of Design Leads, Engineers, and Draftspersons.
• Review and approve designs from internal and external consultants.
• Drive quantity optimization and cost control for civil works.
• Coordinate across Electrical, MEP, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Interface with clients and site teams for technical queries and approvals.
• Perform risk analysis and issue design clearances in consultation with Head – Engineering.
• Finalize Design Basis Reports (DBR), BOQs, and all key documentation.
• Encourage innovation, digitalization, and process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct periodic project reviews with BU and project heads.

Technical Expertise Required

• Strong design background in Civil & Structural works for Substation Projects, including:
• GIS / AIS Substations
• Control Room Buildings, Transformer Foundations
• Equipment Foundations, Roads, and Drainage Systems
• Structural Steel and RCC Design
• Knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering, design codes (IS, BS, ACI, etc.)
• Ability to review vendor and consultant engineering documents
• Understanding of topography, geotechnical, and environmental site conditions

Software Proficiency

• Design & Analysis: STAAD Pro, ETABS
• Drafting & Modeling: AutoCAD, Revit
• Detailing: Tekla (preferred / in learning phase)
• General Tools: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
