Role Description

We’re seeking an ambitious, hands-on CTO to lead the technical development and scalable growth of a platform/app. In partnership with the founder, you will drive core engineering architecture, shape product strategy, and build the team and systems that deliver safe, delightful, and game-changing experiences for our users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve the technical vision, infrastructure, and architecture for all app features—from private messaging, community discussions, and personalized feeds, to profile customization, engagement scoring, notifications, analytics, and theme management.
• Direct all frontend and backend development, DevOps, security (incl. privacy, encryption, and moderation tools), and app performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, growth, and community teams to rapidly iterate MVPs, new features, and improvements based on user feedback and analytics.
• Build and mentor an engineering team (in-house or remote) and manage relationships with external tech partners and vendors.
• Own scaling, reliability, and debugging processes for high-volume user onboarding and real-time engagement features.
• Design and implement robust data architecture, analytics dashboarding, and incentive systems.
• Lead technical due diligence for fundraising, partnerships, and compliance.
• Stay up-to-date with platform-specific best practices (mobile-first UI/UX, APIs, scalable serverless architectures, data privacy regulations, and modern development frameworks).

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years in a senior engineering or technical product leadership role; track record as CTO, VP Eng, or founding technical lead in a high-growth consumer app or SaaS platform (mobile-first strongly preferred).
• Expert in modern tech stacks (React Native, Flutter, Swift/Kotlin, Node.js, Firebase, AWS/GCP, etc.) and agile product development.
• Deep understanding of social engagement, community, gamification, notifications, and privacy-first UX.
• Experience with scalable user authentication, security, and moderation in social or e-commerce apps.
• Familiarity with analytics, affiliate integrations, and reward systems.
• Proven ability to hire, lead, and inspire a technical team.
