Front End Developer (Senior role)
📍 Location: Sarasota, Tampa or Montreal, on-site relocation assistance
💼 Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a Senior Front-End Developer who can take full ownership of the user interface for a critical software platform that connects and controls multiple hardware devices used in simulation/medical or robotics training environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, can mentor others, and wants to shape the UI architecture for a highly visible product that serves professional end-users.
You will work closely with a small, collaborative software group (front-end, back-end, and Unity/AR/VR engineers) and will be responsible for delivering an exceptional UI/UX experience while ensuring legacy components remain stable and modernized.
What You’ll Own
- Lead front-end architecture, design, and implementation using Angular and Electron
 - Deliver new UI functionality on schedule while maintaining and improving legacy components
 - Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to support hardware-connected simulation products
 - Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with strong attention to UX and reliability
 - Prioritize competing feature requests, set realistic expectations, and drive execution
 - Contribute to UI standards, best practices, and guidelines (e.g., API guidelines, design patterns)
 - Provide mentoring or guidance to junior team members when needed
 
What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)
- Consistently delivers new front-end features on time
 - Modernizes and stabilizes legacy UI areas without disruption
 - Makes sound implementation decisions independently
 - Improves productivity by standardizing tools, patterns, or guidelines
 - Becomes the “go-to” owner for front-end decisions and direction
 
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional front-end development experience
 - Strong proficiency with Angular (Angular 19+ preferred)
 - Experience with Electron or a similar front-end desktop framework
 - Proven ability to work autonomously and own UI implementation end-to-end
 - Strong problem-solving skills and experience supporting complex software systems
 
Nice to Have
- Experience with device-connected or hardware-integrated software
 - Experience in environments with DevOps-based CI/CD pipelines
 - Ability to mentor junior developers or serve as a lead
