Duration: Short-term contract (part-time engagement)

Format: Remote, with occasional visits to the Helvetas Ukraine office (Kyiv)

Reports to: Helvetas Ukraine

Objective. To provide technical support, configuration, maintenance, and protection of the IT infrastructure of Helvetas Ukraine in accordance with internal security and data confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Configuration and Maintenance:

• Install and configure workstations (Windows 10/11 Pro) in line with Helvetas Minimal IT Standards.
• Install, update, and monitor antivirus solutions (Windows Defender, MS Endpoint Protection or equivalent).
• Enable BitLocker disk encryption and securely store recovery keys (KeePass or similar).
• Configure VPN, Wi-Fi, printers, update systems, corporate email, and OneDrive/SharePoint.
• Perform basic computer hardware repairs and troubleshoot system issues.

2. Data and System Security:

• Verify password policies, multi-factor authentication, and disk encryption.
• Ensure regular data backups and conduct restore functionality checks.
• Monitor antivirus protection, firewalls, and system logs for risks.

3. User Support:

• Configure smartphones for secure access to corporate email (PIN, screen lock, encryption).
• Ensure automatic screen lock (no more than 10 minutes of inactivity).
• Provide guidance to staff on safe use of digital tools.
• Troubleshoot software/system issues and perform minor hardware repairs.

Expected Results

1. Fully configured and secure work environments (aligned with Helvetas IT Standards).
2. Updated antivirus and system versions across all devices.
3. Functional backup and recovery process in place.
4. Monthly technical report with brief recommendations.

Requirements

• Experience as a system administrator or IT consultant.
• Knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, SharePoint, VPN, BitLocker, antivirus solutions.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity, user administration, and backup management.
• Responsibility, structured approach, service-oriented mindset.
• Fluency in Ukrainian; English is an advantage.
