About the role
As a Senior Product Manager at Cast AI, you’ll drive our cloud-native platform forward by gathering user insights, shaping roadmaps, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, Kubernetes-powered products.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the development of the Database Optimization product (DBO) within the Cast AI platform.
- Work directly with software engineers at customer organizations to understand how they monitor, query, and optimize databases in production, and translate their challenges into actionable product improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Cast AI’s engineering teams who actively use the product, ensuring continuous feedback loops and product improvements.
- Conduct research together with the UX designer on database optimization tools and practices across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and other relational databases to inform product enhancements.
- Drive collaboration across internal teams (Engineering, UX, Sales, Customer Success) to ensure the product achieves adoption and sales goals.
- Own the product backlog: review, refine, and make prioritization decisions with the engineering team, balancing technical feasibility, customer needs, and business outcomes.
- Proven experience in leading and delivering B2B software products in a cloud-native environment, ideally in the database, observability, or performance optimization domain.
- Experience collaborating directly with customers as design partners, understanding their technical workflows, and turning feedback into product capabilities.
- Working knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) including query planning, indexing strategies, and performance tuning. Not required to be a DBA, but must be comfortable engaging in technical discussions with engineers.
- Hands-on experience in defining and tracking product metrics (e.g. query performance, latency, index usage, resource costs) and using analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics) to support decision-making.
- Strong writing and communication skills — ability to clearly explain database optimization concepts and new features through PR/FAQ documents, release notes, and customer-facing materials.
- Familiarity with modern product management practices (e.g. outcome-driven roadmaps, discovery frameworks, lean experimentation).
- Education: Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar.
- Competitive salary (€6500- €8500 gross depending on the level of experience)
- Enjoy a flexible, remote-first global environment.
- Collaborate with a global team of cloud experts and innovators, passionate about pushing the boundaries of Kubernetes technology.
- Equity options.
- Private health insurance.
- Get quick feedback with a fast-paced workflow. Most feature projects are completed in 1 to 4 weeks.
- Spend 10% of your work time on personal projects or self-improvement.
- Learning budget for professional and personal development - including access to international conferences and courses that elevate your skills.
- Team-building budget and company events to connect with your colleagues.
- Equipment budget to ensure you have everything you need.
- Extra days off to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.
