Position: AI Tutor – Statistics Specialist

Type: Full-time

Compensation: $90,000–$200,000/year

Location: Palo Alto, CA (in-office five days per week) or Remote

Commitment: 9:00am–5:30pm PST for the first two weeks of training, then 9:00am–5:30pm in your local timezone

Role Responsibilities

  • Use proprietary software to annotate and evaluate statistical data, equations, and model outputs.
  • Design and select challenging statistical problems in areas such as probability theory, regression modeling, and Bayesian inference.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation tools and workflows for higher accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analyze and critique AI-generated statistical reasoning to improve clarity, correctness, and interpretability.
  • Ensure the highest standard of data quality and maintain consistency across diverse tasks and formats, including text, voice, and video.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Master's or PhD in Statistics, or Mathematics with a strong focus on probability or applied statistics.
  • Exceptional command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and apply sound statistical judgment.
  • Strong research and reasoning skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing evolving and complex instructions.

Preferred

  • PhD in Statistics or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Peer-reviewed publications in statistics, probability, or applied modeling.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience in university-level statistics or mathematics.
  • Prior involvement in AI training, data labeling, or model evaluation.

Compensation & Legal

  • Competitive pay ranging from $90,000 to $200,000 annually for U.S.-based professionals, depending on experience and location.
  • Comprehensive medical benefits for all full-time employees.
  • U.S.-based applicants must reside outside of Wyoming and Illinois.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.
