This is a rare opportunity to shape how one of Ireland's largest financial services groups actually delivers AI at scale.

They're building a brand-new AI centre - not a research lab, but a hands-on delivery hub embedding AI into every part of the business. From customer operations and underwriting to process automation and data insight, this team will lead the charge on practical, measurable AI adoption.

If you've ever wanted to take AI from proof-of-concept to production - driving change across real business functions - this is it.

As the head of AI , you'll report directly to the Chief Data Officer and lead cross-functional pods of data scientists, engineers, and delivery specialists to bring AI use cases to life.

You'll be responsible for:

• Taking AI and GenAI concepts from idea to deployment - integrating them directly into live business processes.

• Leading delivery pods end-to-end, ensuring outputs translate into measurable operational impact.

• Embedding agile, experiment-driven delivery within a large enterprise environment.

• Partnering with business leaders to identify high-value use cases, secure buy-in, and manage change during rollout.

• Building a culture of delivery excellence - focused on real outcomes, not theoretical innovation.

• Balancing innovation with governance and transparency, ensuring responsible AI at scale.

This is a hands-on leadership role - ideal for someone who's just as comfortable designing a delivery roadmap as they are reviewing an architecture or evaluating model performance.

• 7+ years' experience delivering AI, ML, or intelligent automation solutions - ideally within fast-moving commercial environments.

• Proven track record embedding AI into operations (e.g., claims automation, NLP-driven workflows, predictive modelling, or GenAI-powered chat and decision tools).

• Strong understanding of end-to-end AI delivery: data pipelines, model build, deployment, monitoring, and value tracking.

• Hands-on familiarity with Python and modern AI tooling (LLMs, MLOps, or automation platforms).

• Experience leading small, agile delivery teams or pods focused on measurable outcomes.

• Excellent stakeholder management - able to translate technical complexity into commercial impact.

• Experience within financial services, insurance, fintech, or other large regulated sectors is beneficial but not essential.
