Senior Java Software Engineer (6 months contract)

Strategic Staffing Solutions International’s client, Danske Bank, is looking for a Java Developer to join the Meeting Squad within Danske Group IT.

Meeting Squad builds and maintains systems that advisers and customers use daily to book and conduct meetings, both online and in person. A smooth user journey, high quality, and strong system reliability are essential to what we do.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional squad with end-to-end business responsibility, helping to shape and improve systems that support essential customer interactions.

Your responsibilities

• Refactor and simplify the existing code base
• Maintain, improve, and develop new features
• Coach and support junior developers
• Participate in production releases and incident management
• Design and build cloud-native systems
• Write automated tests to ensure code quality
• Take part in improving development processes and technical decisions

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience with Java and familiarity with Kotlin
• Solid knowledge of Spring Boot, REST, Junit, MQ, ElasticSearch
• Experience in building Cloud-Native solutions (AWS experience is a plus)
• Good understanding of CI/CD principles (Azure DevOps experience is an advantage)
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability for your work
• Team player who contributes ideas and shares knowledge openly
• Focused on writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Upper-intermediate level of English
