The Manager Software Engineering is responsible for developing and leading technical teams in the delivery of quality products in a timely manner. This position collaborates with other technical leaders to ensure a cohesive product suite.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of timely, high quality results. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet business requirements through helping the team align with prioritized backlog, while contributing to technical solutions by helping to define user stories
- Ensure alignment with product vision through collaboration and frequent communication with technical leadership and product owner. Establish team organization in support of product direction
- Lead a team to understand, adhere to and consistently implement the software development lifecycle. Proactively identify and communicate potential roadblocks to the team and leadership
- Provide technical guidance, hands-on assistance, and promote team culture with an emphasis on security, quality, and engineering agility; remove barriers to enable the team to be productive
- Execute department processes and standards to ensure alignment across the organization. Continuously improve processes through effective communication and acting as a motivator of change within the department
- Contribute to and manage to approved budget
- Collaborate with team members and cross departmental stakeholders in creation, coordination and achievement of mutual goals
- Manage and lead the direction of executing department benchmarks, protocols, and objectives. Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics; track team performance against established metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employees
- Perform all managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring, compensation management, employment relations, and termination of employees
- Develop team members; coach employees through their personal growth in functional expertise, communication skills, and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers. Assist with identifying and developing future leaders
- Operate as a thought leader among the team; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department
- Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance, resolve issues as necessary, and remove obstacles for team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Relevant software industry experience
- Demonstrated technical skills to effectively manage technical teams
- Experience with Agile, or willingness to learn and follow Agile, Scrum, or other appropriate principles and methodologies
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility/accountability in managing budgets
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Excellent collaboration skills, applied successfully within a team as well as other areas
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of department
- Excellent leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact

- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Operating systems and products
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook or equivalent email and calendar software
- Excellent business and technology acumen
- Proficiency with CI/CD principles
- On call/after hours escalation may be required
- Up to 5% travel time required
