React Developer (18-Month Fixed Term Contract)
📍 Near Newport Pagnell | Hybrid (2–3 days in office)
We have been exclusively retained to recruit for a brilliant Front End Developer (React).
You’ll join a small, collaborative tech team modernising a long-established platform used across the retail tech sector. The focus is designing scalable front-end solutions in React and helping shape the next generation of the company’s product.
Your work will be visible, your input valued, and your ideas will make a difference.
What you’ll be doing
- Building responsive components in React using TypeScript and modern JavaScript
- Integrating with RESTful APIs and collaborating closely with back-end developers
- Working with QA and product teams to deliver features that make sense to users
- Applying strong UX and UI principles to create intuitive, engaging interfaces
- Suggesting improvements, refactoring where needed, and helping reduce technical debt
- Taking part in design discussions and agile ceremonies
What you’ll need
- At least 3 years’ commercial React experience
- Solid JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 skills
- Experience working with APIs and state management (Redux, Zustand or similar)
- A good understanding of UX and UI design principles and how to apply them
- The ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to others
- Experience working in agile environments with Git workflows
Nice to have: testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library), design systems, or cloud exposure.
The practical details:
- Hybrid – 2 to 3 days in the office (rural location, car required)
- Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
