What you'll do:

The Cybersecurity Administrator supports the County's cybersecurity infrastructure through administration, monitoring, and day-to-day operational tasks. This role supports the protection and resilience of information systems by upholding their confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

  • Cybersecurity Operations: Monitors and maintains security tools and systems. Assists in investigating and documenting security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Performs routine security checks, supports compliance efforts with applicable regulations and standards, and contributes to the implementation of security policies and procedures.
  • User Access and Identity Management: Administers user accounts, roles, authentication mechanisms, and access controls across County systems. Support the implementation and maintenance of multi-factor authentication, conditional access policies, and privileged identity management.
  • Security Awareness and Support: Delivers tailored guidance to staff in response to security incidents and promote best practices.

In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

  • Our non-negotiables: You have a diploma or degree in an Information Technology related field, and a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Experience: You have 5 years of related work experience.
  • Certification: You would be committed to completing the CompTIA Security+ certification and a Microsoft Security Engineer Associate certification within 18 months of your start date.
  • Troubleshooting: You excel at problem-solving, and are able to analyze and resolve technical issues related to cybersecurity, hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Communication: You have strong interpersonal skills to discuss complex information with courtesy and tact, and you have a demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on technological issues.
  • Attention to Detail: You have the ability to manage multiple tasks and shift attention between various projects, while ensuring you are effectively monitoring systems and responding to incidents as they occur.
