Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our client's team on a 6-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will have intermediate experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats in a hybrid office environment. This role requires a professional who can effectively evaluate and mitigate risks, respond to incidents, and enhance overall organizational security. This opportunity is 2 days a week in office, located in North York, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Monitoring & Threat Detection:
- Utilize SIEM and EDR platforms to detect and analyze potential security threats and breaches.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans to identify and address weaknesses in the network and systems.
- Incident Response & Mitigation:
- Lead incident response processes, ensuring timely containment, investigation, and resolution of security events.
- Provide detailed documentation post-incident to guide future preventive measures.
- Threat Analysis & Risk Identification:
- Identify, analyze, and assess cyber threats, providing actionable intelligence to mitigate risks.
- Perform vulnerability risk management by assessing critical systems and recommending security improvements.
- End-User Education:
- Conduct cybersecurity awareness simulations to train staff in recognizing security threats like phishing.
- Lead cybersecurity training sessions to promote safe practices across the organization.
- Email Threat Analysis:
- Monitor email activity for phishing, malware, and malicious threats, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of activities and report progress to leadership teams.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and compliance standards.
Key Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of cybersecurity experience in incident response, threat analysis, and monitoring.
- Hands-on proficiency with SIEM and EDR tools.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability scanning and risk management methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in responding to phishing and email-related threats.
- Experience designing and delivering cybersecurity awareness training and simulations.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment, while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 months contract to start, with potential for extension.
- Location: Yonge and Sheppard; required in-office presence 2 days per week.
