Location
Infleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Melbourne, AU office.
Position Summary
Infleqtion is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in circuit design, PCB development, and embedded systems, with proven experience working across the full product lifecycle. This position will be responsible for leading the electrical design and development of electronic systems and subsystems for Infleqtion's quantum products and the role requires close collaboration with mechanical engineers, subject matter experts, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, compliant, and production-ready electronic systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Circuit & PCB Design
- Design and develop analog and mixed-signal circuits, including multiboard assemblies
- Implement and optimize designs in Altium Designer (3+ years of experience required)
- Work with ADCs and DACs to enable measurement, sensing, and actuation functionality
- Design for EMI/EMC compliance and support relevant testing and certification
- Embedded Systems
- Contribute to the design and testing of embedded systems (microcontrollers, peripherals)
- Support firmware engineers with hardware bring-up and debugging
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and SMEs to capture requirements and constraints
- Work effectively with international teams across multiple time zones
- Support DFM optimization and production ramp-up
- Lifecycle Ownership
- Contribute from requirements gathering and architecture through to V&V, production support, and sustaining engineering
- Hands-On Engineering & Test
- Rework and assemble prototypes, including fine-pitch soldering (down to 0402 passives)
- Use standard lab equipment: oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and near-field probes
Up to 10% travel may be required, for example, to attend face-to-face meetings, internal global workshops, present at conferences etc.
Requirements
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronics, Embedded Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional experience with Altium Designer
- Strong foundation in analog circuit design
- Experience with multiboard assemblies
- Knowledge of embedded systems (microcontrollers, board bring-up, testing)
- Demonstrated experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Hands-on lab and rework skills (PCB assembly, 0402 rework)
- Proven experience designing for and testing EMI/EMC compliance
- Familiarity with the full product lifecycle: requirements → design → prototype → V&V → DFM → production
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable collaborating with international, cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented and proactive in problem-solving
- Able to balance innovation with manufacturability and compliance requirements
- Basic proficiency with SolidWorks for ECAD-MCAD integration
- Experience in RF design (Tx/Rx circuits, s-parameter analysis, link budgets)
- Familiarity with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers)
- Experience designing flex PCBs and wiring harnesses
- Programming skills in C and/or Rust for embedded development
- Proficiency in Linux environments
