Building on our long-standing expertise in advanced production technologies, Rosendahl Nextrom is expanding into AI-driven robotics with a forward-thinking research and engineering team dedicated to developing adaptive industrial robots—an advancement that will transform industrial automation, manufacturing, logistics, and beyond.
Our mission is to create intelligent, adaptable robotic systems that seamlessly integrate into real-world production environments, combining cutting-edge AI research with practical robotics to enable robots to perceive, learn, and act with human-like flexibility. As this is a strategic new direction, you will have the opportunity to shape not only the technology but also the business models that will define the future of smart manufacturing.
As a Robotics Software Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, developing, and deploying robust robotic software architectures. You’ll collaborate across robotics, AI, and control engineering domains to build systems that perceive their environment, plan complex motions, and execute tasks safely and autonomously.
Tasks
- Design, implement, and test ROS2-based robotic software in C++ and Python for real-time control and motion coordination.
- Integrate AI and perception modules into robotic systems.
- Develop and maintain simulation environments and hardware-in-the-loop test setups for validation and continuous integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on motion planning, SLAM and sensor fusion.
- Support deployments and testing on humanoid and industrial robotic platforms.
- Diagnose, debug, and improve robotic systems to ensure reliable operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying robotics software.
- Proficiency with ROS2, C++, and Python on Linux-based systems.
- Experience working with robotic simulators (e.g., Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, PyBullet, Gazebo).
- Familiarity with real-time control, sensor integration, and hardware bring-up.
- Strong debugging and system integration skills.
- EU citizenship and willingness to relocate to Austria (Graz / Pischelsdorf area).
- Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-driven control or learning-based robot behaviors (reinforcement/imitation learning).
- Familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and MLOps tools (Docker, distributed training).
- Experience deploying robots in industrial settings.
- Understanding of embedded systems and edge computing for robotics.
- Valid driver’s license (Category B).
Benefits
What We Offer
