The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Risk & Compliance Directorate - Office of the Group Chief Compliance Officer (GRC - OCCO) - Group Non-Financial Risk Department (GNFR) - Project Management and Information Security Division (PMI) - Information Security Risk Unit (InfoSec), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2026)

Objective of the traineeship

You will support the operational implementation of the EIB Group's Information Security Risk Assessment process by ensuring the accurate consolidation of assessed applications and their criticality levels in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will gain practical experience in IT governance, risk management, and compliance while contributing to the enhancement of the EIB Group's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and data governance framework.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Information Security Officer, you will:

  • Support the consolidation of Business Impact Assessments (BIA), Cloud Risk Assessments (CRA), and Residual Risk Assessments into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Ensure that application metadata and classification levels are correctly recorded and aligned with information security policies.
  • Assist in maintaining the accuracy and consistency of the CMDB by cross-checking entries against approved risk assessment documentation.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the EIB Group’s Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Gain hands-on experience in IT governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
  • Support the development and improvement of the data governance framework within the department.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and validate information relevant to security assessments and application criticality.
  • Participate in documentation and reporting activities related to compliance and risk processes.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Risk Management, or another closely related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with interest in data accuracy and governance.
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing concepts, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies or frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.) would be an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Excel for data analysis and SharePoint for document management).
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of French or another EU language would be an advantage.
