Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated software developer to join our data science and software development team. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop and implement in-house software solutions. You collaborate with various stakeholders to fine tune user requirements and functional specifications. You design software solutions using a microservice based software architecture. You write server side applications using event or request driver architectures. You write automated unit, integration and end to end tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult stakeholders, collect and document user requirements and functional specifications.
- Translate requirements into software architecture (you will be assisted by a senior software developer or architect).
- Develop scalable, performant and reliable software solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code.
- Mentor junior software developers, provide technical guidance and support.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
- Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our in-house solutions remain cutting edge
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
- 5 years of work experience and proven track record of developing Python applications
- Profound understanding of threading, multi-processing and asynchronous programming
- Good understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming
- Experience with various Python web frameworks (Fast API, Flask, etc.)
- Experience with writing test code (Pytest)
- Experience with message bus technologies (Kafka, Rabbit MQ), caching systems (Redis) and relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, S3, etc.)
- Experience with DevOps (Jenkins, OpenShift), Docker containers and version control (git, GitLab)
- Basic notions of network topologies and their impact on software design
- Fluent in English and Dutch
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or other strongly regulated industry is a plus A
