We are looking for you, Senior Project Manager, Investment Projects
to join our COO Office function, working within the Lignocellulose team.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of implementing Neste’s major pilot plant investment project, advancing a pioneering lignocellulose-to-fuels technology toward commercialisation. You will work closely with R&D, business development, engineering and external partners to bring this breakthrough innovation a significant step closer to commercial production - starting with the pilot-scale investment and paving the way for future commercial deployments.

- Project implementation: Lead the investment project from engineering to successful start-up, ensuring delivery safely on time, within budget, and delivering the targeted quality and impact.
- Team leadership: Lead a cross-functional internal project team (engineering, project control & quality, HSE, procurement, construction management, etc.), ensuring sufficient resourcing, effective collaboration and a high-performing team culture.
- Vendor & supplier management: Oversee the selection and contracting of key vendors and fabrication partners. Ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost control.
- Change management for scope, schedule, and budget changes.
- Reporting & communication: Provide clear and regular updates on progress, risks and opportunities. Proactively escalate issues and seek decisions when needed.
- Stakeholder engagement: Ensure alignment and coordination with internal stakeholders such as the key business stakeholders and R&D throughout project phases.
- M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience from investment projects, of which 5 years in project management, preferably within oil refining, petrochemicals, or other process industries.
- Proven track record of managing similar investment projects of comparable size and complexity (5-50 MEUR), including preferably EPC/EPF execution model.
- Experience working with or in owner organisations and managing both the internal team and external vendors and contractors.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills in English and Finnish both verbally and in writing.
