This is the role
You will join our Core Experience team, which owns the systems responsible for ingesting, processing, and managing podcast and audiobook content at scale to ensure that listeners always have fast, reliable access to the content they love.
Your responsibilities will include supporting and developing features that align with our Core Experience strategy, ensuring system stability and optimal performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and propose innovative solutions.
Your primary tasks will involve building and maintaining high-quality features, driving team deliverables, and ensuring robust code quality to create a seamless user experience.
Your main responsibilities in this role:
- Work on high-quality feature implementation in Kotlin, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks
- Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients
- Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
- Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and allow for regression testing

Experience we’re looking for:
- You have an experience in Kotlin / Java or any other JVM-language
- You have good experience using Spring Boot and experience in developing REST APIs
- You have experience in using PostgreSQL
- You have experience in using PubSub, Kafka or similar messaging solutions
- You have some experience/are willing to working with containers and utilizing tools like Kubernetes
- You have some experience/are willing to work with Async programming
- You have good communication skills in English as this is our company language across our markets
- Having knowledge or experience with GraphQL is a benefit
- Optional but nice-to-have: experience with Python and/or ML engineering tasks – considered a bonus and especially valuable if joining projects that require data processing or machine learning integration
