The opportunity: Resilience Risk Senior Manager – Permanent contract

What you will do:
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for demonstrating effective stewardship on entreprise risks and overseeing the implementation of the Resilience Risk Strategy and Risk Management framework in HSBC Luxembourg, HSBC Continental Europe and within HSBC Group.
The role holder will be accountable for working with the First Line of Defence to embed Risk Policies and improve the risk profile to maximise the effectiveness of risk management measures.
In this role, you will (but not limited to):
- Support the Country CRO/Regional ERM team by acting as a partner to the businesses and functions, supporting growth, profitability, return on tangible equity and sustainability aspirations while retaining the appropriate risk management discipline to achieve strategic goals and establishing and maintaining governance over resilience risks.
- Provide risk management input and stewardship on Enterprise Risk Management matters, in particular resilience risks (including but not limited to Technology and Cyber Security risks) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Ensure appropriate risk governance structure is in place in line with HSBC Principles, Risk Management Framework and local regulatory requirements. Provide management and Board of Directors with second line of defence opinions on the key resilience risks.
- Establish and execute an effective entreprise risk framework for an integrated approach to operational risk across the country and the Region.
- Increase the understanding of resilience risks within the global business and functions by explaining these in plain/business terms and helping them to keep these within their risk appetite by recommending mitigating actions.
You should apply if you have:
- Expert knowledge of Risk Management, in particular Resilience and Technology and Cyber Security risks.
- Ability to implement a vision and strategy for risk capability across the global functions and communicate to key stakeholders including those at C-level and get their buy-in.
- Experience in dealing with complex matters and environment by adopting a pragmatic approach, identifying core requirements from both a security and a business perspective and translating them into simplified activities that address the problem.
- Transformation and change programmes experience.
- Knowledge of EU banking regulations and of DORA.
- Credibility and gravitas, to face off to senior Resilience Risk managers and global businesses/functions stakeholders in order to win their confidence and help influence their decisions.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to build relationships with key internal & external stakeholders.
