The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Risk & Compliance Directorate - Office of the Group Chief Compliance Officer (GRC - OCCO) - Group Compliance and Integrity Department (GCI) - Compliance Strategy Division (CSD), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2026)
(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship
The objective of this traineeship is to support ongoing IT projects within the department, with a particular focus on compliance-related testing and process automation. You will contribute to the definition and maintenance of business requirements for compliance risks, ensuring accurate and timely compliance input and consistent data management across all divisions.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Business Requirements & Coordination:
- Define and maintain detailed business requirements for compliance risks under the department’s remit.
- Coordinate with relevant services to ensure accurate and timely compliance input and consistent data management across all divisions.
- Process Automation:
- Support automation and digitalisation initiatives of compliance processes, including testing, model validation, reporting, and issue management, to increase efficiency.
- Testing & Support:
- Participate in the testing of IT solutions, ensuring that business requirements are met and compliance standards are upheld.
- Support the integration and optimisation of compliance tools and methodologies.
- Final year of studies or university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Business administration, Law, Finance, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Risk Management, or related discipline).
- Understanding of IT project lifecycles, especially in relation to compliance and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in data management and reporting.
- Interest in digitalisation and innovation within institutional or corporate environments.
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools, in particular advanced knowledge of MS Excel would be considered an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
